*Catherine Pelonero is an author and playwright whose work has been produced throughout the United States and Canada. Her first play, Modern Maturity, premiered at Alleyway Theatre and won the Emanuel Fried Award for Outstanding New Play. She served as Playwright in Residence at Alleyway, debuting other plays such as the comedy Cats & Hamsters and the social satire Babies on Ice, which received an Artie nomination for Best New Play.

Several of Ms. Pelonero's one-act plays received their premiere productions at Off Broadway venues such as the Nat Horne Theatre. New York premieres include Romantically Incorrect and Family Names, winner of the Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival and published by Samuel French, Inc. Recipient of a Western New York Arts Council Fellowship for Drama, Ms. Pelonero's other plays include Pioneers in Paradise, Joe's Last Confession, and Puppies with Papers, a finalist for the Heideman Award at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Her newest plays are the drama Essence of the Earthworm and the one-act Rupture.

Ms. Pelonero’s short screenplay Preservation Society won the Yale University Screenwriting Competition and was filmed in the summer of 2006.

As a prose writer, her short stories have appeared in arts and literary periodicals and in the anthology The Workplace. Ms. Pelonero has been a featured speaker at universities and served as a symposium panelist at the 2003 Playwrights Expo in Los Angeles. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild as well as the Actors Studio West Playwrights & Directors Unit and currently serves as a Vice Chair of the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights (ALAP). Originally from Buffalo, New York, she currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, actor and hockey broadcast journalist Josh Brewster, and their sons.
